manageing masked regions

I have a number of masked regions in my views that frequently need to be edited and copied to other views. The thing is they are invisible, and you need to remember where they are and 'hover' to select them. 'select all > in view' is grayed and you can't put them on a custom workset. How do other people work with them? Thanks.

Don't use invisible lines? If my masking region borders a detail item, I change the line type of the masking to match the detail item...
