I am trying to add thickened edge condition to a slab on grade (foundation slab). I have created 2 profiles Types in the same Thickened Edge family. I apply Type 1 thickened edge to the floor edge and I exit of the active command. It works as it should. Then I want to choose a different thickened edge profile (Type 2) and apply it to a different edge of the SAME floor outline. What happens is that the Type 1 profile created before now changes to Type 2.
Question: Is it only possible to have a single thickened edge profile per ONE floor outline? I’m using REVIT Structure 2011 though it should apply to Architecture 2011 as well. Thanks!

in plan view, click on the slab edge. You should see blue "control" grips at each end of the slab edge. You can click and drag those to the desired extent of that type of slab edge.
Then, place your second type of slab edge and adjust the extents of that one, too.
Oh, and did you change your profile in your second type of slab edge?

yes, I do see the control grips and I am able to modify the extents of the thickened profile. What happens is that once I try to add the second type, it changes the first type as well to the second type. It is as if only ONE edge type were allowed per slab, which to me sounds counterintuitive. I have attached the Thickened Edge family.

I found the solution. The culprit was the Restart Slab Edge Button that needs to be pressed BEFORE exiting the command so that separate edges can be created.
