Does any have a method for displaying room number from previous phase into new phase.
Of course I dont want anything else displaying from the previous phase and I do not want to make new rooms.

You have to copy your rooms from phase to phase. This is by design. Because you may have a room in an existing phase used as and office and then in your new phase its going to be storage., Just do a crossing window, select all your rooms and room tags, ctrl c them and paste them to your new phase plan.

There is one trick you can do.
Here's a post I made for our internal Wiki site:
(I do have a graphic if you can't wrap your mind around all this.)
You know how you can’t get the Existing Room Tags so show on a Demo Plan?
You’ll probably have to read this 3 times to understand what’s going on.
First, how Revit works, and why you can’t show Rooms.
The whole thing is caused by the fact that in Revit, Rooms belong to one and only one Phase. A Room created in the Existing Phase will not show up in New.
So here’s what happens:
1.) You have Existing Walls and Existing Rooms – created on the Existing Phase.
2.) You Demo some Walls in the New Phase.
3.) Those Demo’d Walls can’t be a Room Boundary because they no longer exist, so you can’t show the Existing Room Tags on a View set to New Phase.
4.) So the only place you can show the Existing Room Tags is on an Existing View. But then you can’t show the Walls as Demo’d because they haven’t been demolished yet.
Catch 22.
Here’s a way around it.
You can place two different Views on a Sheet and they will snap to each other so that they are Aligned. The trick is that this can only be done ON A SHEET.
So, you think, I can just place both the Existing Plan and the Demo plan on the Demo Sheet.
Still Catch 22, though, because the Walls and Doors and stuff from the Existing Plan will still show through.
The solution is to add yet another Floor Plan View, and have it show nothing but the Room Tags.
Then you can add all your Rooms in the Existing Plan, go into the “Tags for Demo” View, and Tag All Rooms.

I (MEP) hope I never have to link a file that has been setup that way.
I couldn't even imagine what we would have to do to get the room names to show up.
