Ribbon Changed appearance

I'm working along fine and I open up my project today and the Ribbon has changed. See attached. Everything used to be strung out and now it is compacted. How to change back?

I have not updated the program and have changed nothing since using it yesterday. I've tried opening it from an existing project and it is the same. Help please!

Double Click one of the tabs ie. the home tab. this will toggle yourself though about 3 or 4 different tab appariance settings.
