RS2012 - I have a finished project that I want to rotate 90 degrees through all views, sheets, etc. When I try to rotate project north, I get the error "Can't rotate element into this position" for 1200+elements, and when I click cancel (only button available), I get more misc warnings that can be ignored (the first one says "Rotate Project North command has successfully processed 4700+ elements") but the only available button is cancel. When I click it, everything goes back to its original orientation.
How do I get this project rotated?
Thanks

Do you have any linked models? You may have to unload or detach them to rotate the model....
To change the project north late in the game is a headache...

Thank you for the suggestion. I have tried both unloading and totally removing the linked file but get the same result.
FYI, this is actually a second project that is very similar to one we already did for the same client aside from the orientation, so that's why it isn't set right to begin with.
having similar issues rotating a file. anyone have suggestions?

Have you tried clicking the expand>> button in the error window? It will list all the items that are unable to be rotated, usually these are detail items in my experiences.

Make everything a model group before rotating...but yeah, it's a real bad idea late in the game. Don't be surprised if you find some random element floating off in the distance after you do this. Archive a copy before you do it. The FIRST thing I do is get project north and true north straight when I start a project because of this. You might be better off rotating all your crop regions or rotating views on the sheet.

It's been a long time since I've tried this...
Im pretty sure I had success with this method, try it out see how you go.
As suggested you need to detach any attachments first.
Set up a blank project with the correct co-ordinates set for project north.
Make sure all of your host projects levels and grids are set to shared (right click on level, element props, and "shared" instead of "project")
Insert blank project with CORRECT project co-ordinates set and go to "manage" tab and select co-ordinates <acquire co-ordinates>
This merely changes the co-ordinates without moving your model, it should give you the desired result without having to change your views/sections/anything at all.
I always double check it, turn on your survey and project co-ords points thru visibility graphics and make sure they all match the blank project once you have acquired.
Also make sure your level 1 in blank project is set to the correct base RL as it will acquire this too, I usually go ahead and set up all the blank levels at the correct RL just to be sure.
