Dear all,

We are going to start a new project in Revit ,a group housing which has 7 tower. each tower has 25 floors with typical floor plan. boss wants us to create working drawings in Revit only. also in future , we may need quantities from the same file.

What is the best methodology to start this project. Should we use linking or workset. Plese suggest.

Thanks,
Annie

The two processes you list should not be considered as "either - or". You will probably be using both procedures. Enabling worksets allows more than one person to work on the project at the same time so I would think you will be doing that. Linking allows you to use multiple revit projects and cad files in the same project file. In your case, you might have one building file linked into a site file.

Sounds like you have some real learning to do before you take on such an ambitious project.

I have just completed a 200 Unit Residential project - Linking 30 odd different Revit files into the master plan.
Linking, Work-sets & Shared Co-ord's..... ah I feel goose bumps just thinking about it all!
learnt heaps about Linking
Best tip I have for you - Don't Mirror Linked Files if you using Shared Co-Ordinates - Revit Can't Process the Mirror when you change the Linked file!

I sat down for a day & tried it all out - on a simple 1m² house. Just tried everything i could & found out what would & wouldn't work

Best of luck
