Maybe most of you might have known this already but this may be useful to some other users so i'll post it here.
To pan your view press the wheel button of the mouse, this is i think already standard for all autodesk programs.
In viz or max they have a shortcut for realtime rotation a combination of the wheel button and the alt key, this can be applied also to revit but instead of using alt key use shift key.
To rotate realtime in revit instead of pressing F8 or the eye icon, try pressing the wheel button + the shift key.
