The readme file for this on the AutoDESK site is bad. Does anyone ever proof these?
We are trying to see if this utility will help us.

My honest opinion is that it is likely that no one proof read it. The RAC 2012 deployment creation process is badly broken. The only reasons I can come up with to explain this are:
1. No one tested it prior to release;
2. They knew it was broken but released it anyway.
See here:

Unless you are really into scripts or editing mysterious XML files and spending lots of time experimenting, you might be better off skipping the deployment creation utility until they fix it. YMMV.

I created a deployment solely for the purpose of not having to enter the serial every single time. But that's about the only thing it's good for. I still had to set up the file locations and other defaults on each and every machine after the program installed.

Could you elaborate on this? Are there errors in the information, is there not enough information provided? What can be done to make it better for you?

Here's some slightly more useful info for you, Jeff:
The link from this page

When I look at it in IE9, it looks fine
However, when I look at it in Firefox, I get a couple odd characters, and then a bunch of html code.
I saw that yesterday, but I've been having other Firefox weirdness, so I though it was my fault.

Thanks Dave. This helps explain the problem. Assuming this is what the OP meant by "BAD".
I will check into this and see if we can get it fixed.
Update:
If the Readme file is saved locally then it will be able to be opened in Firefox. The issue seems to be when the file is open directly from a networked resource. The file opens correctly in IE and Chrome over a network.
The contents of the Readme can also be found here:
