I have some dimensions in muy model that are from taking field measurements. I just use them to work with and don't want them to print. Is the any way besides hiding them all so that they won't print, maybe something like a non-plot layer in autocad?

How about:
1. have two views - one for plotting; and one for working. Then, you can have those field dims on the working plan view, and the critical dimensions on the other. As a way to differentiate, make a 2nd dimension for the field dimensions - choose a different font, or a different color.

2. Maybe with 2 different dim styles you can create a view template (VT) that filters out the one used for the field dimensions. If that works, then you will have to remember to apply the VT before printing

Just make another view. That's the most widely used method. We often have several views with WORKING as the first word in the title to quickly differentiate them from other production drawing views. Then you can dimension or do any other annotations to your heart's content and it will never get printed, since you won't actually select that view to print or place that view on any sheets.
