when we build up the model in REVIT, many sections are needed as referrences. But later we will have to delete those which will not appear on the sheet. I heard someone mention that those sections can be identified by assign to a different color. Is that true? If so, how can we do it?

Here's the LINK _ Hiding Sketch Sections, A Workaround. (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=781)

Yzhou,
The link shows a method for using temporary sections as references that do not print, so you don't need to delete a bunch of working sections.

All I understand from the LINK referred to is that we still need to select the temporary sections and change them to a 'hidden type' so that it doesn't print as a continuous line.
But, what we are looking forward to from the factory is a 'section type' which should be 'temporary in nature' created for the purpose of viewing the model rather than for actual placement on the sheet drawing, and that section might be purged automatically once the current session of Revit is closed. It shouldn't reappear when we reopen the project again...
May be a far reaching 'Wish list' item !!!! But it is not totally impossible for the efficient 'Revit Software Development Team'.

As a workaround you may try using design options. Make your WIP sections visible only in this option. Don't place anything else into this option, leave everything but WIP sections in main model.
