Custom Stair Indicate Direction

If I want to sketch a custom stair case by hand, how do I indicate the direction? I click finish, and almost always have a back wards set of stairs.

After you finish the stairs, there's a little blue arrow that indicates the direction of the stairs when you select it, and when you click the arrow the direction will reverse.

However for custom stairs I always start with the Run tool to get the initial centerline of the stairs and tread depths laid out. And when you're sketching the run, it always goes from bottom to top on the 2 mouse clicks.
