First letter typed lower case with CAPS on

I'm having an odd issue with the table that I'm working on. For some reason, even though I have CAPS Lock on, when I click into a cell to input data the first letters seems to always be lower case. Is there a setting that I'm missing?

This is in AutoCAD 2009.

Nope. I even tried using the shift key when I start typing and it still typed in lower case. Everything after the first letter comes up in upper case and once I backspace over the first letter, it does upper case. It's just annoying and a time waster, especially when you are filling in an entire finish schedule for a new project.

This must surely be a property of the table itself ?

Happens here when Mtext Autocaps is on and the keyboard Caps Lock is off, which coincidently is the configuration I like the most since I want caps in acad and lower case in Windows.
