Is there a keyboard shortcut to select all? If so, is it for all objects, or just those in the view?

Control a doesn't do it.

Nope, there are shortcuts for Select All when editing pasted elements, or select all instances in project or in view, but that's it.

There is no Select All command in Revit whatsoever.

I use SA for select all instances in project and SV for select all instances in view.

Is this what you're talking about?

I assumed he meant Select All as in select everything everywhere globally in the entire project, which is not possible.

I needed to delete room bounding lines in the entire project. I discovered that filter breaks out room lines by category. So I would zoom out, swipe the entire view, open the filter, turn off all selection but room lines and delete.

The whole process would be a lot faster if I didn't have to zoom way out to make sure I caught everything, i.e. a keyboard select all.

for non-API solution, go into 3D view, turn on room separation line, select all by crossing window, filter out everything except room separation lines, delete

good idea. it's interesting that you can't use "select all" with certain items including rooms and lines. this seems like the best solution.

You can also select the item you wish to select, then right click and select all instances --> Visible in view or in entire project.
