Hello everyone,

I have attempted to see if Revit Structure 2011 will group steel columns in my GCS not only the default way it sorts, but also by base plate type, or size, and anchor bolts.
My searching help did not reveal any way to do this. I may have two or more columns that are identical with the exception of the base plate size and or anchor bolts, say at a braced bay.
Does anyone have a sugestion or solution? :roll:

There was an article in the Augi world that had a work flow for a solution of combining both GCS and Key schedule.

If the link don't not work it was the Sep / Oct 2010 issue page 24.

Dr Harry,
Thank you for the tip. It appears that is the way Revit Structure wants to display column information. We are using the graphical column schedule as it is, but display the column size in the GCS with a tag. We have grouped the like columns to reduce the space the GCS takes on the drawing. The Base Plate Schedule we made useing a key schedule, per your tip instructions, displays the base plate TYPE, LENGTH, WIDTH, THICKNESS, ANCHOR BOLTS, AND BASE PLATE DETAIL TYPE LETTER. This way the columns can stay grouped on the GCS, showing the symbolic stick diagram, and the base plate schedule shows all the deviations each column may have in regard to base plate type and anchor bolts.

Thank you,
John :lol::lol::lol:
