I work for a manufacturing company that has used feet and decimal inches for many years. Our plant is set up to receive information as such. As a draftsperson that is now using Revit, this appears not to be an option, although it is in AutoCAD. Is there a way to dimension in feet and decimal inches? Can this be added to up coming versions?

Can you give us an example of what you mean by feet and decimal inches?

Do you mean 4.50 FT? (in Revit units this is decimal feet)

Or do you mean 54.00 INS? (This is decimal inches)
Both of these are supported in Revit, plus many others. Type "UN" to get the units window. And unlike Autocad, Revit performs the conversions internally. No more scaling by 1/12 or 1/2.54 to create "fake" units.

When creating sheets, I regularly switch units to decimal inches. We tend to think of letter size as 8.5 x 11, not their FT/IN equivalent.

Warning: If you change units, change them back before you save, or you will share your change with everyone on the team, who may not appreciate dimensions in millimeters!!!!

We also used to use Feet / Decimal Inches in ACAD. As in 2'-2.125"

There is no way to get that coordinate style in Revit. Just decimal feet or decimal inches.

Really too bad, working with feet / fractional inches is the suck.
