Filling in columns

Hi everyone,

I am trying to graphically demarcate my new vs existing columns in a project. I want to cause the existing ones (which are hollow structural steel) to have a hatch or filled region in the hollow part of the column.

I was thinking that maybe I could embed a filled region in the family but my only option is a masking region.

Also, I am using phase overrides to make all existing elements of a particular graphic style that is "greyed out."

Its very difficult to tell which columns are new and which aren't without something more obvious going on graphically. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Phases are the best way to control existing, new, and demolished elements and how they display.

You place all existing elements in the existing phase, and the Phase Graphics Settings will control how they display automatically.

Same for New Const. and Demo.
