Revit tools stick - freeze view

I have noticed that Revit has a tendency to hang intermittently when a tool is selected. Seems to happen about10-20 times a day while working. Once a tool or element is selected you cannot escape - the view freezes until you re-select the tool in the tool bar; selecting the esc key does not work. This seems expecially pronunced when selecting walls from the type selector.

This was a problem in Revit 2011 that seems more pronounced in Revit 2012.

What are the specs of your machine? Probably not enough RAM.

We've found 2012 faster than 2011. And 2011 was faster the 2010. I think they are getting the ribbon more optimized each round.

So your situation is probably particular to your setup.

I always find a clean install of windows cures a lot of 'issues'. I usually do a clean install yearly.
