Wall inserts not wrapping as expected

I have a multilayered wall consisting of 100mm stone exterior, then 232mm brickwork, then and air barrier, then 106mm brickwork and 12mm plaster. I've attached 2 set of images. One with wrapping at inserts set at interior and the other set at both. When set at just interior, on a straight wall it works as expected, but a curved wall it doesnt work to great. when wrapping set at both, once again on a striaght wall it works, but on a curved wall it makes the exterior stone layer much thicker. why?
