Grading to multiple surfaces

I have created a grading from proposed level to stratum 1 and I now want to offset the top of the grading and then grade from this offset to stratum 2 etc etc.

I assume there is no cunning way of extracting the line I want while maintaining the dynamic model (in case the slope angles are varied)- I have tried surface boundaries, exploding gradings and drawing polyline and then offset.

I don't believe I could use corridors effectively as there are 90 degree internal corners and I don't want to spend hours tidying up the inevitable "bowties".

however try copy the top level feature lines to a NEW site
lower as required and then grade to Strata 2

Although I think a section sketch showing more clearly your intent might yield a different solution
