I am currently trying to pursuade my company to look into Revit (and failing)

Most of our offices user AutoCAD and line weights by colour

Some offices use lineweights by layer/object which I think is a superior system

Revit only seems to convert from the old fashioned lineweight by colour - Is there any way to make it translate AutoCAD object/layer lineweights?

It does both at the same time. Export a Revit sample and you'll see the lineweight column is filled out. Of course you also get colors for plotting that method as well.

Thanks for that, I have had a play and it seems to work nicely. The only thing that I dont know how to do is to get revit to export specific layers with attached linewieghts - exported layers go out with correct name and colour, but all layer assigned lineweights are 0.09mm.

There doesn't see to be any way of changing this in Revit.
