Hi all,

I created a few Model Review check files in a previous version (2009) of Model Review. Is there any way to upgrade these files to work with Revit Architecture 2011? in fact, is there an way to upgrade .bcf files at all? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jim,

We just spent a bunch of time re-creating our 2011.bcf files in version 2012 as they were not upgradeable. This was annoying but fortunately not too labor intensive. I don't know about 2009 to 2011, sorry.

Thanks Glynnis. Doesn't make much sense to me that these files aren't upgradeable. Oh well. Back to the drawing board I guess.

We have found that you can upgrade the .bcf file by going through the following process:

Open the .bcf.
Change the following lines:

<RevitVersion>2012</RevitVersion>
<ApplicationVersion>2012.0.2011.425</ApplicationVersion>

Change '2012' to '2013', then save and reopen it.
