Wall opening from openings tab

When I use the tool for vertical straight opening to make opening in a wall, I can't move the sides of the opening to desired position and can't snap precisely when making it. Sometimes I have an option to move only one side of the opening. Also every new wall opening is done with predefined setting that I don't know how to change to save time - for example base ofset is always 80.57 instead 0
If I use to change the profile of the wall it is fine, but I hane noticed that these walls have other problems sometimes and are not so flexible.

Is there anybody who has similar issues?

I draw a construction line at the location of my wall openings and immediately align the ends of the openings to those lines after creating the opening, then delete the construction lines. As for the default opening values, I wish I knew to change them but I suspect they are hard coded into the software.
