Moving Project to New Project Base Point

We have our fully completed model and all its sheets that need to be moved to a new project base point per the architects request. There is no model provided to aquire coordinates from. I moved the model physically by moving the grids and all the model geometry to the new base point on Friday. I made the incorrect assumption that all the sheet annotations, detail groups, etc would move with it but none of it did. Help!!

1. any suggestions on the easiers way to move all of the annotaions all at once?

2. Is there a better way that I should have done this to begin with?

Although I've never tried it, one of the choices is to specify coordinates at a point. As I understand it you can relocate the project to specific points this way. Would that have been the way to go and if so, can you open up the last backup file before the botched move and do it over?
