I'm trying to create a sunshade on a curtain panel pattern family (rectangular). The surface is sloped (vertically) and curved (in plan), and I'm trying to get the sunshade part of the panel family to be truly horizontal and not 'normal' to it's host. It is slightly tilting down in section and I would like for it to be completely horizontal, but still be able to adapt to the panel component.
I would like to be able to nest the sunshade family into the panel family.
How do you get a work plane that knows its orientation as truly vertical or horizontal? I've tried using the 'always vertical' parameter of a nested component, but that doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas?
