Does anyone know of any Autodesk plans to include a pdf tool similiar to their Autocad 2012
pdf as underlay tool in future releases of Revit? This is a great tool in Autocad the snaps work to the pdf however a feature that I was hoping for was to be able to save the pdf in the drawing and have it show up in the .dwg and be able to bring this into Revit. Unless I am missing something which happens a lot, you cannot do this. Anyone else tried this or know of a workaround?

Thanks in advance,

James

I haven't found a way. But you could open the pdf in Illustrator, and then export it as a dwg. Of course, the pdf would have to be a vector file, and editable.

I was playing around with this idea today, but I hit a roadblock w/ line weights and scale. So, next time I'll try adjusting the line weights and the scale of the drawing in AutoCAD before importing it into Revit.

Save the PDF as an image file ( jpeg, etc. ) and use that in Revit.

Just make sure to not start filling up Revit with huge image files or performance will be drastically affected.
