View Full Version : True Isometric Dimensioning
For years people have been coming up with ways to dimension in the
isometrice planes. It is about time that AutoDesk does it.

I don't believe there is not an automatic way to do this so I would vote yes for that. However, after placing a linear dimension and rotating it to the correct angle you can use the DIMEDIT command and change the oblique angle to say 330 degrees. This allows you to manually align the dimension lines with an isometric object (see the attached image of a dimensioned isometric 5x5x5 cube).
You can draw an iso-ellipse if you have isometric snap set and if your iso-planes are set correctly. It would be great though if AutoCAD could do this automatically for you with dimensions also.

That is something that I would like to see as well. I know that there are work arounds but it would be nice if Autodesk provided it for us.
Have a great day,
