It seems easy enough, but I can't figure out how to accomplish it. I have several plan details taken in the same area but cut at different elevations (they're currently set up as plans to give me better control of the cut plane elevations.) The problem is that I would like to indicate the elevations of these plan details in a section detail that intersects them. The section detail shows up automatically in the plan details (as it should,) but I can't seem to place section tags within the section detail to reference the plan details.

So, is there a way to do this or do I need to create an annotation family to replicate our section tags?

Thanks.

Place a Section Mark--by default it comes in vertically.
Select it and Rotate it to horizontal, looking up or down depending on what you need to see.

There you have it--a Section Mark referencing a Plan Detail.

Thanks Cliff, but the main problem I'm having is that I can't seem to REFERENCE a new section tag to a plan view (they are not listed under the "reference other view" dropdown when trying to place a new section tag within a section view.) Any ideas?

Yes--I don't think it can be done?

But you can still use the "horizontal section" method.
