Revit to 3D PDF

An article by Paul Crickard describe the steps in exporting a revit file as an .ifc extension file and opening and viewing it in adobe acrobat. I drew the view box from a blank file but as soon as i selected the file it said that it was an unsupported file format. One thing that I did notice is that it was asking tp see a .u3d file type. (At which point I could not see my .ifc file). One I changed the selection to all file types, I selected my file but it gave me the "not supported file type". What Gives? Anyone have an answer?

Do you have Acrobat Pro 9 Extended version?

I thought Adobe had given up on the .rvt files.

Does it a) have the walkthru function working? and b) keep materials, or is it like .dwf?

You can't use the rvt file directly, it goes through an IFC export to be brought in to Acrobat.
I'm not sure why anyone would pay full nut for Acrobat Pro when you get similar, and in some respects better, functionality in Design Review using native DWF:screwy:

We're always checking into Acrobat functionality because clients have the reader and are familiar with it.
