After upgrading to 2012, all linked CAD overlays have become invisible!?

When I select across (right to left) the elevations / sections in question, the linked CAD files become visible (while selected), they even print. So far, the only way to make them visible is to set the far clipping to "no clip". This is a problem because then you see the entire model beyond. I linked other CAD files into these views (and made sure that "current view only" was checked) and they behave the same way. Has anyone else had this problem?

Anybody? Nobody has noticed this?
Well, in case someone wants to chime in, here are a few other facts:
-the issue appears to be related to the view range and the origin point.
-Only elevations facing South and East are affected.
-In some of the views zooming out makes the dwg appear.
