Hi all,
I'm in a situation where I have to create a 3D Model for coordination purposes using the architects 2D DWG's. The architect refuses to release their model to us, saying that they're not confident in the integrity of it. I want their model to simply create sections through, see wall heights, materials, and other things. Does anyone know a way to "lock down" a model for a purpose such as this? We've though of exporting as an IFC and 3D DWG but those can just be brought back into Revit and edited. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Ask them for a 3D DWF.

What program can I view a 3D DWF in without losing information from the model?

Autodesk's "Design Review", make sure element properties is checked when exporting and you will have most of your BIM information.
