I'm having problems creating pdfs from Raster/Civil 3D 2010. Last week we had to save our 2010 files back to 2007 versions and use 2008 Civil 3d to create pdfs. We have no problems printing drawings, just creating pdfs. The problems happen only when we have airphotos in the background. If you try to use Bluebeam or Adobe printer drivers the process starts as normal but it then cancels the process without any reason. The native Dwg to PDF setting is hit and miss. Mostly it works, sometimes not. When it doesn't work it comes back saying it is running out of memory. I thought that this was only a problem with my computer but a co-worker is also having the same problems and his PC is more recent than mine.
I'm not sure if this is just a setting problem or computer hardware problem. I know that we are short of ram as per the system requirement from Autodesk (only 3GB of ram versus 4 GB other requirements are met) I'm not sure if just a ram upgrade with the 3GB switch (**Autodesk suggests the /3GB switch on 32-bit operating systems with 4 GB or more of RAM.) will help or not. I'm still running Windows XP (32 bit). I'm also finding that if the pdf is created they end up being huge. Is anyone else having these issues. Thanks in advance
