View Full Version : Structural Columns hidden by "Linked View"

Has anybody run into this problem and found a way to resolve it. We've got two architectural models, a Shell and an Interior Fitout. When bringing these two files together into a floor plan we are utilizing the "Linked By View" setting to bring the Interior Fitout file in. When doing that, the structural columns get masked out by the partition walls in the linked view.
I've tried making the walls transparent in the linked file, but this makes all the walls look like **** for some reason. Anybody have any ideas.

I'd suggest placing all Structural elements in a separate Linked model.
Then perhaps use "Custom" view setting under Revit Links in VG.

The structural elements are in a structural file. I have tried doing a copy/monitor with the columns to see if that would change anything.
I tried visibility graphics overrides on the linked structure as well, but bringing in the partition walls "by linked view" still hides the structural columns.

On the off chance, is the view set to coarse, medium or fine? By default, structural columns show as analytical in plan view if it is set to coarse. In your case, this might not be the issue however.

Regards,
I wish it were that simple, but it's not the case. Thanks
I ended up using a filter to make the walls transparent. For some reason the screen graphics look terrible for the cut lines of the walls, but we tested the print and it turned out alright. I'm sure "By Linked View" just has its limitations.
