Would using Callouts on overall building Elevations increase performance over seperate Elevations for more Details Views? Which scenario results in best performance?
Scenario 1:
Overall Building Elevation (Elevation)
Enlarged Partial Building Elevation (Callout from Overall Building Elevation)
Scenario 2:
Overall Building Elevation (Elevation)
Enlarged Partial Building Elevation (Totally seperate Elevation)

Just depends how you want to document. The rule of thumb is always small scale ref. larger scale, so you wouldn't callout from one scale to the same scale, but if you are doing and enlarged elevation detail, we typically call them out from teh overall elevation.

Interesting thing is that if you add an elevation it will turn up on a lot of different floor plans by default (of course you can use filters and etc etc), whereas a callout from the elevation view only shows up in that elevation, making your management of the visibility of it alot easier.
The downfall of using the callout is if you delete the elevation, the callout view deletes as well
I think you need to delete the parent elevation, then you can change the callout's parameters to be Independent, which will prevent it from also being deleted. I agree though that managing the elevation tags is much easier if the view is a Detail vs. an Elevation.
