Is there a way when you insert a door to have the host element (ie wall) remove the rough opening. I'm looking for more than a reference line in a plan view.
I know it would seem odd for the door to appear to float, but I think with the right reference lines in the family, you could adjust it to a desired visibility.
In the attached image, when I'm looking at the bifold door, it is a 3' door, but for this type of door, the need the clear finshed opening to be 3'-2". The contractor doesn't wan't to see the small returns on each side of the door.
I guess I could always fake the door bigger, but if I were using this strategy on the next project, this would mess up my schedules.
Any advice on to how to approach the model...or the contractor?
