Please guide me how to control this? When I create an MTEXT box, sometimes the text overflows the box and will not wrap automatically. I have columns set to 0.
Thank you!

If you don't set the width of the MTEXT object, then only a hard return will force a new line. If you set the width, then wordwrap should be in effect.

You can set the width using Properties or the ruler that should show above the text while editing it. As you stated, make sure you have columns set to none.

The width of the box will not break words or words with nonbreaking spaces between them (Ctrl+Shift+spacebar). If none of these posts solve your problem you should attach a small drawing with just the problem text in it.
