Ramp not cut in plan

My ramps are not cut in plan like a stair. I started a new file, drew a ramp from level 1 to 2, not cut in plan 1. What am I missing? I'll have to change all my ramps to sloped floors if I can't get it to work correctly, but this can't be right... help please!

Try using a plan region and bring the top view range below the main view range so that it is not showing the full upper reaches of the view. I am just guessing....

Thank you. I'll give that a try. I tried modeling the ramps as sloped floors, but the way they cut is not graphically pleasing.
