Hi guys,

Does anyone know why I get 4 thick (.5”W x 6”L. Please see attached file) lines at printed sheet sides? These lines do not show up on screen, they appear only on paper and PDF files. Could it be because I am using a student version of the Rrevit Architecture 2011? If not, can anyone explain how to correct this issue?

Thank you.

Yes, they are there because of the Student version.

Revit Student versions disfigure the plots to discourage commercial use.

I have heard there are ways around this, but I have real Revit and don't need them.

If you want to clean your plot up, make a PDF and load it into Photoshop or some other pixel based editor, and just erase the black bars.

using Revit student version = unemployed architect

Lots of that around these days. The real unemployment rate in NYC is rumored to be around 27% for architecture. I heard that stat in 2009 when I was one of them.

Hi Mike,
In addition to these lines the scale of the drawing is also altered. If you were to remove these lines with PS, you would have to increase your output scale accordingly (different sheet sizes need different percentage increase in scale). It is a lot of work. I think I will use my SoftPlan 13, for now, even thought I really like Revit. It would be nice to find discounted licensed Revit software.

If you are working on your own might I suggest you take a look at Project Spark?

Not a perfect solution but it could keep you Revit savvy for the time being.
BE SURE TO READ THE CAVEATS THAT COME WITH LAB RELEASES. (Don't mean to yell just wanted to be sure you noticed)
