View Full Version : Massing ogbjects without shell walls/roofs etc
I've been doing some guttering that needs to wrap around a facia. See gutter detail. pg. So I used a massing object sweep to create it. But it creates walls and roofs if I Show Shell (see jpg). I know I can make them not dependant and then delete 'em but is there a better way?

Just create the gutter as an in-place sweep.
It will do what you want it to do and will appear correctly when cut in section.
Thanks - but what is "in place sweep"?
Don't worry - just figured it - Create in Place Roof In-Place Sweep - works well. Thanks

Another way which is quick and easy, is to create a "Host Sweep".
Go to a roof plan view, select "Host Sweep -Roof Fascia or Roof Gutter " from the Modelling tab, then just click around to plan. (making sure not to start another action or else you will need to use the "Place Next" button )
The gutter and fascia can be created very quickly this way. The default profiles can be replaced with others or custom ones after you have placed the sweeps.
