Hello- I'm fairly new to Revit, and I'm hoping someone can help me with what seems to be a very basic job - that of getting the brick veneer to wrap around a wall jog. An 8"cmu wall meets a 12" cmu wall. I want the brick veneer to wrap around continuously. When I join the wall the usual way, the brick does not wrap around the jog. When I disallow the join, I get the brick to wrap, but the cmu is not continuous like it should be. I tried fiddling around with the wall joins and join geometry tools but no luck. I've attached a picture below. Thanks!

make sure your brick is Finish 4 or 5 and the CMU is within the structural core...and Finish 4(or 5) is set to wrap.

Thanks for responding. Brick finish is [4] and CMU is in core. Brick is set to wrap. Also set "Wrapping at ends" and "Wrapping at inserts" to "Exterior". Brick wraps at window as shown, but not at place where walls join. I've attached pic of settings. Adjacent wall has same settings, but cmu is 7 5/8" thick. Any ideas?

A few options that I have used...

Use a detail component to make it look correct, most of the time I ignore instances like this unless I have a view finer than 1:50.

Back off one of the walls, such as the 8" and disallow join, stretch it back until it reaches the air layer then join the walls together. Your air layer won't wrap but the brick will, again, you won't really see this unless your zoomed in.

Another option is to put in a custom architectural column with the brick material to force the two walls to wrap at the brick.

Well heck. I solved it. It was pretty easy after all. The secret is adding a piece of vertical wall between the ends of the horizontal pieces of wall. But it has to be done as shown in the attached drawing below or it won't join up correctly.

1. Make an "L" using two 8" cmu walls. Make a 12" cmu wall slightly above and to the right.

2. Use the Trim/Extend tool to connect up the 12" wall and the vertical 8" wall.

3. Slide the 12" wall down to align with the bottom of the 8" wall using the Align tool.

Don't know if it's necessary to lock them together, but this seems to work. Only took me the whole afternoon to figure this out. Thanks for your input. Hope this helps someone else!
