I'm looking for a faster way to break lines crossing a main line. Something similar to the dim break command. I want to draw a line and every line that crosses over it will be broken and trimmed back a little. I know how to do it manually, I just want to do it faster.

Use the fence option and just draw a line though the objects you want to trim. Quicker than selecting each breakline one by one.

From the LT World you could create a Macro based around a Circle that could one or two click Trim the intersections I should think.

That is a really good idea. I was thinking a good solution would be an option on entities (line, polyline, spline, etc.) that allows you to specify a buffer distance for a background mask - like you can do for Mtext.
Getting back to what you can do today...it could be done with lisp.
Maybe someone else will chime in with a pre-built solution.

As long as there was a way to specify non-maskable entities or layers....having holes show up in the hatches/aerials when you only want the _line_ to appear broken would not be good.

Yes. Agree. Sounds tricky, but Adsk has some genius programmers. It probably wouldn't be that difficult to have them only mask other curves. True draw order on a layer level would go a long way towards this also.
