Revit - Long recovery times saving model back to server

When saving a model file back to the server, we are encountering very long save times. The larger the model file, the longer the save times. Is there a setting in Revit where this can be looked at? Thanks!

How large is large??

What sort of computer are you running?
What sort of network is in place?
Is this running on a standard central file or the Revit server??

If you include this information it will help people get a better idea of if this is a software, hardware or limitation and provide solutions on how to improve it.

Sorry for not including that information. Model files are relatively small, ranging from 30-200MB. Save times locally take a minute, but when saving back to network server, takes 10-15 minutes. I am new to trying to be the BIM Manager in our small firm so thank you for any input.
Three laptops all purchased within last year, windows 7, i7 processors, 8mg RAM.
The central and stand alone files are running off of standard Revit to server setup, we currently haven't used Revit server.
