I have a project with 12 different apartment types and a 6 metre fall over the whole site. I have created a "Base Plan" which is just a site plan with the apartments linked into it.

The problem I am having is in trying to create a site plan which shows the roofs of all the apartments. I have set the cut plane to various levels from 1200mm above the GF of the highest apartment to the max allowed (900000 nom.) I can't seem to get the roofs to hide any of the floor plan walls, windows, etc. (or the ACAD drawing underneath). I have tried hidden line, shading & shading with edges.

All of the apartments have roofs and floors which behave correctly in their individual files.

I also tried to create a 3d view oriented to the site plan but it didn't hide the walls either.

Anyone have any ideas - Build No. 20041128_2030

Paul,

In your linked file, go to Vis Graphics,, tab Linked RVT files, select the first building file, under Display settings select over-ride, under view properties scroll down to select the view you want ie roof plan. Repeat for each of the other buildings. Save that view as - Site Roof Plan.

You can do this for each of the available views in your linked files, ie each floor level for a multi storey project. This setting is entirely independent of the View Depth in the parent file.

Beegee,

Thanks again, I'll try that tomorrow.

Beegee,

Did what you suggested and specified the site plan (of the linked rvt file) to be the view range (which views exactly as it's supposed to in the original file) but the roof still doesn't hide the walls below.

See in the attachment

Thank You again,
