I am using the split face tool in Revit Architecture 2012 to divide wall surfacs that are already painted, to get required elevation patterns. When I did a material take off for the wall finishes, the quantities were wrong.
I ran a test with a 200sf piece of wall.
1. When I painted the wall surface with material A, it scheduled correctly.
2. If I add a split face along the center of the wall and paint one half with material B, I got a total of 300sf of materials (200 A and 100 B)
It seems like Revit is still reading the original painted material on the surface even though I have painted over it.
Is this just a bug or am I doing something wrong? Is there any way around this besides removing the paint from all painted surfaces and repainting?
