Using Reference Sheet in View Tag

Has anyone had success using the sheet reference in the view title? We're trying to use the Sheet Reference parameter in our view tag to show which sheet the detail came from but 90% of the time it chooses the wrong sheet. I realize that it systematically chooses the first sheet in the list where the callout or section marker appears. It seems ridiculously time consuming to have to go through every view in the sheet set to hide callouts and sections. Has anyone found a good solution to customizing view templates visibility graphics or some brilliant way to make it easier to make the reference sheet show correctly? Or is this a hopeless cause?

Just edit the view title family and add the "sheet number" parameter in your view title. Load it into your project and that should do it.
