Switching layouts switches drawings

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I frequently have a number of drawing files open at the same time. Some of my drawings have many layout tabs. When I try to switch between layout tabs, AutoCAD switches me to a completely different drawing. When I switch back to the drawing I want, it is on the correct tab I was looking for. Very frustrating. I recently found the cach layout tabs option and tried to switch it to cache all, but I got the same result. I am using Windows 7 in a network environment, but AutoCAD is installed on my machine locally. Any help would be appreciated.

This sounds very strange. I've never come across such before. Which version/vertical of ACad? Do you have any strange addons installed which might switch between drawings?

are you refering to quickview dwg, and clicking on the layout quick view? I could understand that, because as of right now, there is no way to tell which drawing is current, you could easily click on the wrong layout view and get a different drawing. otherwise as Irne said, I've never come across it before either.
