Is it possible once rooms are defined to visualise them in 3D like boxes?

Nope. Most people use a mass to make a 3D "room".

You can visualize rooms by exporting a gbXML file. The Revit export dialogue contains a gbXML viewer that shows rooms a 3d volumes.
