We've been using Civil 3D for about eight months now. We've found that working with the survey database in large projects is cumbersome, to say the least. As an example, a 10.5 mile topo of county highway right-of-way contains 25,000 points and hundreds of survey figures. The survey database takes about 20 minutes to open and editing is also slow. Are there settings that might be changed to speed things up? I've heard it suggested that the database could be placed on the local hard drive to speed things up.
