I am trying to make a simple 3D object in revit, basically 3 solid boxes joined together, with no luck. Is there an easy way to do this as I have been doing this in conceptual mass. I had the two boxes made, but then trying to snap them together?

I can model this along with other complex 3D objects in AutoCAD very quickly, but when inserting them into Revit they always come in rotated to a different axis, and are unable to rotate them.

Is there any quick solutions for either of these problems.

help need as I am a beginner.

thanks.

You might want to do this in a component family, then load the family into your project and place instances as needed.

(This is the 5ยข response. Explaining the family editor is beyond the scope of a forum reply. There is a separate forum for discussing Revit Architecture Families (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9) which may have some helpful threads.)

Are you using join geometry, when you create your three boxes in the family editor, then as long as they are overlapping you use the join geometry tool to make them "one".
