I'm working on a project at the very very beginning. I'd like to show massing on the site, but we don't have a site plan, yet. My idea was to use an aerial map (JPG) as a decal on a floor surface to rendering massing schemes. I thought it would be super simple and fast... no dice, yet. See rendering. The dark area should be the aerial map. I've tried it as a JPG and a BMP. I'm sure it's something simple that I'm missing... help please?

I just tried something similar and had no problem. That view is set to realistic, right? What type of surface are you placing the decal on?

Oh, Realistic! No, I tried rendering it. Setting it to Realistic makes the image visible. One thing, though: can I hide the X through the decal?
Although I wasn't looking to rendering, yet, so this will work fine, I'm still curious why it doesn't render.
I'm hosting the decal on a floor.

I rendered my test decal (RAC2012) and it rendered fine. Not sure about the X thing, I don't see it on my decal unless I'm hovering over it.
