View Full Version : Wall sweep material not exporting in VIZ.

Wall sweeps in exterior walls that I'm exporting to VIZ are not maintaining their materials. I'm using 2 rowlock sweeps in a brick wall. The sweeps have a different material applied than the host. But, when I bring the wall into VIZ, the sweep material matches the host wall material. Since I'm selecting by material in VIZ to assign new materials, this is a problem. Is this happening for everyone, or have I missed something?
Thanks

Have you installed the revit-viz plug-in? dowloadable at revit download site if yes then use the default revit preset no need to create your own preset then check the following 1) use scene material definition 2) use scene material assignment on reload.

Hope this helps

I've noticed that integral wall sweeps do not come through with their material assignment. You can, however, select them in viz and assign any material you want.

In place wall sweeps and non integral wall sweeps (ie placed with the wall sweep command) usually work fine.

Also be aware that in place families with sweeps will come in as one object, so if you need different material within the same in place family, use the edit mesh modifier.

As Chris mentioned you can however select the wall sub-component i.e. sweep then apply a material in viz but you have to make sure to check the " use scene material assignment on reload" before reloading your scene otherwise it will still go back to your revit host material.
